Love this site. Have read John's book. I have searched the site and not seen an issue like I have.
Just purchased a 1930's Cabin with inswinging Casement windows that are actually in good condition(very little rot, generally function well opening and closing. Plan on stripping them and redoing the putty which has degraded badly.
.
The biggest issue I have is that there is no weatherstripping on any of the windows. I am interested in adding this to the windows and I am looking for direction on what is the best route to take. I know Spring Bronze is something I am looking into, but do not know how to choose the size or the best product for my situation.

The Drip molding at the bottom rail seems typical for an inswinging casement. It again has no weather stripping and I am confused what to put in that location.

There are all ready exterior storms on all of the windows. I have been told they are in good condition and are of high quality.

I can easily attach pictures if that helps. I have had little until recently little luck finding anyone willing even to consider replacing some of the sills that have some rot. That person may be willing to do the weatherstripping but I want to know the best way to do it and possible would like to try and do it myself.

Otherwise all the contractors just look at the windows and say "Oh those are old and leaky, you should replace them all." Yikes.

Thanks for any Help.
