This 100+ yr old needs a new roof due to hurricane damage. Original roofing material is unknown, but diamond asbestos/cement tiles are likely. It has had asphalt shingles for past 50 or so years. Third story ballroom was fire-damaged and removed in the 1920s. Slate or tile is probably too heavy for trusses and would most likely cause plaster fractures. Looks like choices are shingles, fake slate, some kind of metal, or ??. Upper roof pitch is 5 in 12, lower roof(s) 1.5-2 in 12. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You think it is only 100 years old? It could be...my 1906 house looks like it has a strong southern coastal influence. Anyway, Not much of the roof will actually be seen. I think of pressed metal ("tin") roofs when I see a Greek Revival of that era. The orignal (or near to it) shingles are available by a company or two. I am thinking "Norman" off the top of my head, but I would have to check on it. But even a standing seam roof would probably get by, as there was an older style of standing seam roofs at the turn of the century.

I can't confirm the dates for standing seam roofing, but here is a link:

that might help (National Park Service Preservation Brief on roofing.
