Hi all,

I've got a neighbor who is looking for a source for green roofing slate for his c. 1850 carriage house. The color is similar to oxidized copper. A roof repair a few decades ago resulted in a large asphalt patch he wants to fill in, along with numerous broken slates. Someone had informed me (probably here) that Vermont was a source of good roof slate. Is this the case?
Thanks
Sean

Asphalt patch-yikes. If the color is green look to Vermont.

Here's a link that shows some Vermont Slate.

You may want to go salvaged so the color of the new slate will match better. Will also be cheaper.
