While on the ladder yesterday I notice the awesome job that was done to cover over the sill. This is the next window to be done. Hope the sill is in good shape.
I'll be removing all the aluminum on the few windows that were covered. _________________ 80 windows, 48 done, 32 to go

Started 16 and 17 today. 12 over 1, these will seem easy. These 2 are the bathroom windows and the only ones in there so I cut out the center of the plywood and stapled in a screen for light and ventilation.

Had a little panic this morning. I planned on using the rectangles I cut out for coverings if it rained. It is going to rain today so I was going to make a way to hold them on today. We were woken up early by rain and had to temporarily cover the openings. Fortunately it stayed dry inside.
It does give a nice breeze.
Here's the cover for the hole. I used the piece I cut out and screwed a cleat on the bottom and a small turn piece at the top.

The next 3 are underway. 9 over 1, the smallest ones yet. I have to make storms and screens for these as well.
In the week or so since I finished the last windows I've been busy painting the door to the second floor porch. The door is in horrible shape and isn't original so it just got a coat of paint to make it look better.
And recovering an opening on the back porch. It was tongue and groove but I switched it to cedar shingles. I believe it was originally a pass thru for ice delivery and was removed a long time ago.

Dear Matt,
Your work is just lovely. I am also working on window restoration. I noticed you built a steam cabinet - I just don't have the space or apitude, but I live close to Elyria. Would you be interested in steamming my window sashes for cash? I would be interested in talking with you about this. Please post a reply if you are interested.

Started #21 today a 25 over 1. Got the lower sashed deglazed and primed today. I'll take the next 2 nights to work on the upper since my work time will be limited a bit. Next up I'll work on the basement windows. No ladders.

Started 22, 23 and 24 today. I planned on starting these after the weekend but the other things I planned on doing fell thru.
The bottom inch or more is completely rotted and soft on this lower sash. Other than that these 3 will be easy. Not a bunch of panes like the others, no ropes and the same color on both sides of the sash. Also the trim is simple and not much scraping. The sills will need epoxy also
