We have a sizable metal roof that is in need of some TLC. It is not bad, per se, but there is a pin hole or two and some rust.

What methods are advisable for cleaning the old paint off and repainting?

I had heard that power washing is NOT advisable? So what IS advisable for 1) cleaning the roof, 2) scraping the old paint off & 3) removing the rust, and priming?

I have looked into the Acrymax system and it looks pretty good, and comes with some pretty great references. Does anyone here have any experience with this "system"?

What are some other products that you have used?

Thanks.
