A few blocks down the street they downed a 3 floor apartment building so the can build a taco bell. The building was being used up until the sale and had the potential to be refurbed into something nice in the future.

The next lot over is a BK and that replaced a 100+ year old church. McD's a block away also took out a very old building.

I shocks me how much has been lost in my lifetime only to be replaced with "temporary" structures. The high school just had a grand opening for their new building and they have a display of all the beautiful buildings that were lost over the years.
