Hello
I am writing a blog article on Eastern Style Window casings.

It seems that the depth of the jamb is much more shallow than Western casings and a closed shutter will stick out from the casing when closed.

Does anyone know about the history or why a casing was originally designed like this without a blind stop and only in New England?

Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Ken
