Here are a couple of links to the on-line catalog of A.M. Leonard - a horticultural supplier that I mentioned during the workshop. The 2" poly tape is also available in 4 and 6" versions. The larger sizes may be handy for bridging missing pieces.

The hook knife is a folding pocket knife style. Definitely more expensive then a linoleum knofe but may have some advantages. I will keep an eye out for an example of a hoof cleaning knife that was mentioned as well.

Andy:
Thank you for providing a source on the tape. I just ordered some ($10 + $10 shipping, 2"x48'), and I suspect it will be at least 10 times better than what we have been using. I'll test it out and post results here. _________________ John

Short term stabilization. The tape is claimed to have a 3 year rating with full sun. Beats duct tape (or worse) for temporary stabilization to meet the client's schedule/budget. Of course, there are those windows that have had all variety of items and substances applied to them for a yankee fix..... |

Jade:
It's real good stuf for fixin' the bumper rust on yer pickup.
Just kidding.
At the workshop I showed clear tape as a quick, low cost, stabilization treatment for cracked glass. I've been using 3-mill clear acrylic tape with acrylic adhesive, but Andy knew about 6-mill polyelethene tape for plastic green house repairs. _________________ John
