I am currently restoring 48 1860 sashes, and am considering using Tung Oil as a finish on the interior. The customer has requested that some of the original paint be left as a highlight for the interior. My concern is that the residual paint, which is leaded may leach through the Tung Oil. Has anyone performed a surface lead test under these circumstances?
