I am purchasing a new home that has an historic foundation (used to be a barn) that I'd like to reuse in constructing a shop/garage. The borough is VERY easy to get along with in that so long as the building is under 1000/ft.2 I do not even need a permit. (ie. I will not be bogged down with inspections/regulations, etc.
The main part of the wall, would serve as the back wall for the lower level of the building. I intend to put 1.5 floors above it. (a full height level with attic space above.).
The wall doesn't look to bad, but is in need of repairs/restoration. Attached is a pic. (the pool, is of course, moving). I intend to use large granite slabs on the sides where the wall slopes down and rebuild/restore/add new rock and/or brick. Does this seem like a reasonable/feasible plan? Thanks.
