The Certified Local Government (GLC) grant program provides grants of money to local governments. CLG grants typically range from $500 to $60,000. Activities that can be funded include public outreach materials such as:
==> Publications
==> Workshops for the public
==> Training for commission members and staff
Here is general information about the program:

Here are the initial steps for obtaining a CLG grant:
1. Find your nearest Certified Local Government:
Go here and Get your State:
http://grants.cr.nps.gov/CLG_NEW/CLG_REVIEW/search.cfm
If your town or city is not a CLG, get in touch with your nearest CLG contact and see if they will let you know about their workshops and publications. Perhaps they would be willing to develop a partnership with your town.
Then click on your GLG Contact.
2. Call your CLG Contact.
Describe the type of workshop, training or publications you are interested in and ask them how this would fit into the city's and the state's preservation goals and strategies; and if the CLG program is a potential source of funding. The CLG is a state-managed funding program so the state's preservation plan would be a good resource for tailoring my workshop or training to meet your local needs the requirements of the CLG funding program.
Followup your conversation with them by sending them an email with these links to information about my workshops, training and publications:

3. Let me know that you have talked with your CLG contact, and I will give them a call too. Here's my email: JohnLeeke@HistoricHomeWorks.com _________________ John
