How would you like to use a service like this right here on the Forum?
Click on the forward arrow in the middle of the player to begin.
Click on the "+" button to leave a message (you'll have to register with your email and a password.)
(scroll down a bit to see another video on using the video player)
Here is more about how to use the VoiceThread player:
Leave a message in the player, or by clicking on "post reply" below to let me know if you would like to use this service here at Historic HomeWorks.com _________________ John

Looks like a cool idea, especially for explaining complicated tasks.
If you're adding features to your site, one I'd like to see would be some kind of notification when new messages are posted - maybe a newsfeed or mailing list.
Something else for you to consider is this:
https://www.archive-it.org/
It's a system for ensuring that all the valuable information on your set gets added to the Internet Archive (archive.org), so it's preserved in case your site ever goes away. I don't know what it costs but it might be worth a kickstarter type campaign. |

Notification of replies is already available here at the Forum. Go to the top right corner of this webpage and click on "Profile", scroll down to "Always notify me of replies" and click "yes", and click "submit" at the bottom. Then you will get an email when ever there is a reply to a discussion you have posted in.
The HistoricHomeWorks.com website and this Forum are routinely archived at archive.org, although the Forum archive may not always include the most recent postings. Perhaps their Archive-It service could make that happen. _________________ John
