Hello everyone! I am working on three entry doors for my sister. The doors are solid core with Alder veneer. She has asked me to finish them natural. Alder being such a open grain wood i knew i needed a durable finish with uv and moisture blocking capabilities. After some research i found that a marine spar varnish was the most recomended product. I have 10 plus years of new const painting and 14 years of spraying laquer base finish and paint. I understand the technique to brush varnishes on but i am having a rough time with this oil base spar varnish. I have added pics of product and 2 styles of quality brushes i have used. Doors were sanded with 180 grit and first coat of varnish cut with mineral spirits for better penetration. i have 4 coats on one door and 2 coats on a dif door I hope the pics explains the issue not to sure how to explain what it is doing. Any advice would be apreciated! these doors are $1400 per door i want to make them as beautiful as i can. Thanks Heath If more pics are needed will be happy to upload more.

Well, can't tell what is going on from the photo. You will have to explain it with words.
